Greetings Saturn Enthusiasts!

Please enjoy the latest November SPS Updates…

SPS Features ION Project at SEMA
For the first time since launching the Saturn performance market in 1996, SPS attended the aftermarket industry’s largest trade show during the first week of November.

SEMA, the Specialty Equipment Market Association, held their 37th annual convention during the week of November 3-7 at the Las Vegas convention center. More than 90,000 industry representatives were in attendance - and there was more to see and do than could possibly be done in just 5 days.

Of course, our main focus was to deliver and showcase the 2003 ION Project car on behalf of Koni, Momo, Thermal Research and Development, Catz Lighting, Quaife, SPEC, Fidanza, Toyo, Saturn Corporation, and the other brands that are represented by SPS and who used the SPS project car to develop new parts. Despite the extra risk, we decided to drive the car to Las Vegas and back, 2000 miles each way. Fortunately, the drive went well, and we were able to detail the car on Sunday in time for the crowded (and chaotic) vehicle placement process.

Our car received rave reviews – highlighted by interest in the front end swap (we put the Quad Coupe front end onto our ION3 sedan,) lowered ride height, Momo interior, and the diamond plate vinyl graphics.

You can learn more about our project car preparation in the SPS Project Cars section of the SPS site. And you can find before and after shots in the SaturnFans member galleries at http://www.saturnfans.com.

Many more new products will be introduced very shortly. But although we are excited about the new items, we must use discretion about releasing new product information because sharing any information before solidifying all of the facts can inadvertently mislead customers, employees, and supporters. Please visit our web site often and watch for future updates. Many more exciting items are on the horizon!

November Specials
Improving exhaust flow out of any motor will improve breathing efficiency and deliver increased power. Our Saturn-specific exhaust components deliver upon this promise and create a deep, aggressive tone in the process. Our systems are designed to be modular to offer flexibility. So piping, muffler, and mounting strap are sold separately. Stainless steel mufflers and piping kits are on sale now. The SPS Stainless Steel Muffler, part number EXMSS01, is normally $189. It is on sale now for only $170.10! The SPS Stainless Steel Piping Kit, part number EX003SS (short wheelbase) or EX004SS (long wheelbase,) is normally $299. It is on sale now for only $269.10!

The Quaife torque-biasing manual transmission differential literally biases power and torque to the wheel with the most traction, allowing virtually unbelievable acceleration when exiting turns on the road course or launching off the line at the drag strip. We offer Quaife torque biasing differentials for the S series in two trim levels: bare (no ring gear or bearings) and complete (with ring gear and bearings attached.) We strongly suggest the finished unit, as ring gear attachment is complicated. The S series Quaife Differential bare, part number QUSA150B, is normally $1195.00. It is on sale now for only $995.00! The S series Quaife Differential complete, part number QUSA150CM, is normally $1995.00. It is on sale now for only $1529.00!

SPS Racing
Most Saturn enthusiasts know of Mike Kramer as the driver of the Thundersport Racing showroom stock Saturn. You know, the guy that just won a national road racing championship in his 97 SC2. Well, as you might expect, winning a national championship tends to open a few doors. So late last month, Mike enjoyed an opportunity to co-drive a Chevy Cavalier in the last race of the professional Grand American Cup ST-II series.

On a humid and clear Halloween night at Daytona's world famous 3.56-mile road course, Mike Kramer and Ed Magner co-drove a Chevy Cavalier to the ST-II class victory in the Grand American Cup's (GAC) final race of the 2003 season. Under Daytona's lights, the Hugger Orange Cavalier outran all ST-II challengers during the three-hour endurance classic, finishing a full lap in front of the Mazda Protege of Bob Henderson and Chip Herr.

Magner qualified the Cavlaier on the ST-II pole with a quick lap of just under 90 mph (2.23.198 minutes,) earning his 5th pole position of the 2003 season.

Magner, from Grand Blanc, MI is a privateer - campaigning GM's only front-drive entry on the GAC circuit. In 10 starts this season, Magner had 7 top-five finishes, 3 fastest race laps, and led 8 of the 10 races he entered. His performance during the 2003 season was rewarded with a third place finish in the 2003 Grand Am Cup ST-II Drive's Championship as well as second place finish for Chevrolet in the ST-II Manufacturer's chase.

Kramer from Franklin, TN is the reigning Sports Car Club of America (SCCA) SSC National Champion and campaigns the only GM front-drive entry (Saturn) in any of SCCA's Showroom Stock Classes. It was his first GAC start and first victory.
