Greetings Saturn Enthusiasts!! Please enjoy our latest SPS updates: NEW PRODUCTS Well...we still don't have any new information about these darned cat-back exhausts. However, our primary manufacturer is planning to borrow our 96 SL2 from July 12 through July 15 to do additional prototyping work. Although the delays have been frustrating for all of us, we have been VERY pleased with their mufflers. So we will wait just a little while longer. We are expecting to get a new prototype this week for the rear sway bar bushings. As soon as we do, then we will test them again for fit. If they fit right, then we will finally begin production. The response to the new blue bulbs has been amazing! We are keeping these in stock at all times from here on. One correction: We had originally stated that the JM9005 high-beam bulbs were 80 watt bulbs. The JM9005 high-beam bulbs are actually 100 watt bulbs. The JM9006 low-beam bulbs are still 80 watt bulbs. Thanks for all of the enthusiasm for the success of scR motorsports. Admittedly, we did not expect such a response to the new SCRCD01 decals. We are getting a new supply this weekend (July 10-12.) The Blue Nology Hotwires are now in stock for the DOHC Saturns. The part number is NOL001L and the price is $159.00 per set. The new GTS headlight covers for the 97-99 coupes are now in stock also. The part number for these is GTS288S and the cost is $49.95 per set. SPS RACING It has been a GREAT month for the SPS Racing teams! It started with an exciting SECOND place finish for James Walker and scR motorsports at the June Sprints in Elkhart Lake Wisconsin on June 28. Since the June Sprints are considered the largest and most competitive race of the entire season other than the championship Run-offs at Mid-Ohio, expectations for success were low. But team scR - the "underdogs" in the Saturn - surprised everyone with a 2nd place qualifying and an exciting 2nd place finish right behind last year's national championship pole sitter! Congrats James and scR motorsports! Not content to let James and team scR get all of the glory, Mike Kramer of Thundersport Racing jumped into the limelight at Savannah Georgia. The Savannah event is considered a "double national" event which means that they run 2 races in one weekend and both races count toward national points. As though he were racing with a vengeance, MIKE TOOK THE WIN IN BOTH RACES!!! He even beat the Nissan 200SX which had, until facing Mike, beaten everyone else in the country! Congrats Mike! This weekend (July 10-12,) a "clash of the titans" will take place at IRP raceway in Indianapolis. For the first time ever, James Walker and scR motorsports will line up against Mike Kramer and Thundersport Racing. It will be exciting! If you have not yet visited the scR motorsports web site, you should! The address is http://www.teamscr.com. SPS EVENTS July 10-12: SCCA Road Race at IRP in Indianapolis. HUMANITARIAN EFFORTS A sucker is born every minute. And when it comes to stray cats, that sucker is John Comeskey at SPS. This past weekend, John adopted his 4th stray cat who was living (barely) at a factory near the SPS warehouse. "Rio", who was on the brink of starving when she was found, has been staying at the SPS facility ever since. Thanks to lots of food, water, shelter, sleep, medication, and attention, her progress has been steady. While she is not "in the clear" yet, the SPS team has committed to keeping her alive and well. And once she is better, we will add her to the sales team. If you have any questions, please Contact Us. Until next month, HAVE A GREAT SUMMER! |
