Greetings Saturn Enthusiasts! Please enjoy the latest January SPS Updates… New SPS Service Parts Store SPS is proud to announce the opening of our new Online Store for Saturn service parts. Our intent is to create a convenient and competitively priced source for original equipment-type service parts – items that are not intended to enhance performance, but that are required to keep your vehicle safe and performing properly. Though accessible from the main SPS site, the new store is currently operating separately from the original SPS site and uses its own database and shopping cart system. The new system has been in development for over a year and will eventually also drive the SPS performance site. To use the new site, simply direct your browser to the Online Store, then select your vehicle model, then select the 'Service Parts' category. There are two ways to find the parts that you need. The first is to browse via the ‘shopping’ link. This will direct you to a submenu of categories including: engine, transaxle, chassis, electrical, body exterior, and miscellaneous. Selecting any category will provide a list of available items listed in alphabetical and numerical order. The second option is to perform a search using the system’s search engine. Please note that the search engine responds only to one word searches. For example, if performing a search for EGR valves, you should type either ‘EGR’ or ‘valve,’ but NOT ‘EGR valve.’ You can browse the service parts database without being a ‘registered’ user. However, in order to place an order using the shopping cart system, you will need to register as a user of the site. Registering is a simple and painless process that involves filling in ten information fields and can be accomplished by clicking the ‘signup’ link from the navigation bar. As always, SPS customer information is kept completely confidential and is never sold or shared with third parties. Currently, our database of service parts consists of items that are known to be the most commonly requested. But our intent is to expand this list on an ongoing basis. If you are unable to find a part that you need, or if you encounter any technical glitches with the site, please Contact Us. But although we are excited about the new items, we must use discretion about releasing new product information because sharing any information before solidifying all of the facts can inadvertently mislead customers, employees, and supporters. Please visit our web site often and watch for future updates. Many more exciting items are on the horizon! November marked the arrival of John William Webster, son of honorary team member Larry Webster. John weighed in at birth at 8 pounds and 1 ounce, and baby and mother are healthy and happy. Unfortunately, of the three scR babies, John was the last to reach the finish line – most likely because his father races a Honda product instead of a Saturn. Congratulations and best wishes to John, Larry, and mother Marylinda! As always, be sure to catch the latest news, schedule changes, race recaps, and photo and video galleries at the new scR website located at http://www.teamscr.com. And Still Another SPS Baby? If it seems as though we have talked about many babies this year, it’s because we have. First Evan Rushbrook. Then Zack Walker. Then John Webster. All of these from the race team’s Michigan connection. And now, SPS team members from the Dayton warehouse are joining the action – thanks to the arrival of Scot Gordon Yearick. Scot is the new son of popular SPS sales consultant Bryan Yearick, who has helped countless SPS customers for the past two and a half years. Bryan’s wife, Susan, gave birth to Scot on Friday December 27, 2002. At birth, Scot weighed in at 9 lbs 6 oz and measured 21.5 inches. We are happy to report that both mother and baby are completely healthy. Our thoughts are with them as they begin the new year together as an enlarged family.
