Installation Instructions

1. First check the assembly of your bracket. Be sure that the threaded ends of the adjustable bolts which hold the "U" arm to the rest of the bracket are pointing toward the "inside" of the bracket - toward the "SPS" logo. Some of these have been delivered in the reverse arrangement, which could cause the bolt to contact the upper radiator hose once installed. (We have attempted to correct each of these, but you should double-check, nonetheless.)

2. Using the same bolts which attached the factory airbox to the front of the battery tray, bolt the Powerstack bracket to the same location in front of the battery tray. The "U" arm should be toward the passenger side and you should be able to read the "SPS" inscription from the front of the car.

3. Install the Powerstack intake. You may at first perceive that the bracket sits too low, causing the filter to point downward and make contact with the bracket. If this happens, you can adjust the Powerstack. First, loosen the connection to the throttle body. Then, by using the imaginary line between the bracket and the throttle body as the fulcrum point, raise the filter-end of the Powerstack until the entire Powerstack is roughly level. It should then fit correctly into the bracket.

4. You can fine-tune the position of the bracket by moving the entire bracket to the left or right in relation to the battery tray. (The bracket holes are slotted.) You can also move the position of the "U" arm in relation to the bracket.

5. Be sure that all bolts and fasteners on the bracket are tight. Then tighten the clamps at the throttle body and finish the Powerstack installation process.

6. On 91-94 models, we have seen instances in which the bracket is low enough to allow contact between the Powerstack and the upper radiator hose. If this happens, you can raise the Powerstack position by inserting washers beneath the bracket around the airbox bolts. The OEM airbox bolts are long enough to allow substantial vertical adjustment.  (Don't go too high, or else your filter will contact the underside of the hood.)

7. Enjoy your Powerstack/Bracket combination!
