HKS didn't work out they are model specific. The person I talked to told me about Split Second web site www.splitsec.com and they make frequency clamps and voltage clamps. The speed sensor on a saturn has 10 volts or more, the sensor is permanent magnetic variable reluctance, transmits 16 pulses per revolution and has a resistance of 700-900 ohms.I was asked to call back and talk to there owner and designer on Wed this week.Is it the fuel pump that is cut or the ignition that is cut when speed limited is activated? Thanks again Chris

I don't know for sure, but my guess would be spark.

My logic for guessing spark is that spark is the first tool for cutting power with the traction control system, so that leads me to think that spark is an easier system for them to integrate. And most engineers prefer to follow the path of least resistance...

Of course, fuel is the second system affected by the traction control. So it is hypothetically possible that they do both.

Wish I knew for sure. Sorry...

I have been researching the diffrent ways auto makers are speed limiting the cars. They are useing the fuel system.Fuel injectors pulse is suppressed or fuel injectors turned off at a pre-set engine speed, once the engine speed has slowed to a safe value the injectors are turned back on this is referred to as a hard limiter.Other systems use soft limiters where once a pre-set engine speed has been reached, the injector pulse width is reduced to prevent the engine from turning any faster.A stand alone engine management system will fix that or a stand alone fuel managment system.I could always use my holley MPFI computor off my big block chevy it runs 4 to 8 cylinders. There are other systems suited for this use.I could start my own Saturn big block chevy class of racing. From the sites and info i found. It sounds like this will be the good days for speed limiters. You may have to start a new class of your own 55mph flat out racing for what it is about to change to.Cars of the future will be controled by the local speed limits.Cars won't be allowed to go more than 55mph.I am glad I live were I do the highway here is 70 mph.Saturn uses two speed sensors one is a turbine speed sensor for trans controls and VSS [vehicle speed sensor] for the PCM.The PCM controls the speed limiter embedded in cuicit board and tied to the injectors.I have a few tricks up my sleeve before I buy a seprate fuel managment system. If they work I will tell you what I did.The only limites I want on my car is a rev limiter. Thanks

To eliminate the governor, you can get the plug and play universal tuners, jet chips makes one and there are others. do your research, they allow for you to increse your limiter and other little nifty things, and you can always reset your PCM back to stock configuration in case you are taking it in to the dealer for service. good luck
